Bearcats linebacker Ivan Pace, Jr. continues to be a wrecking ball for the Bearcats defense as he was named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week after he finished with a team high 15 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss. Pace leads the team with 46 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and has dominated since transferring in from Miami this spring. Pace, the reigning MAC Defensive Player of the Year has started to turn a lot of heads as of late as the linebacker has seen his name start to climb draft boards after a great start to the season. Pace leads the NCAA in tackles for loss where he averages 2.8 per game and is currently tied for 6th in tackles and sacks within all of college football.
“I was always an underdog because I was so small, But I am so explosive and quick, I just got to do what I do on the field, and I am going to show out no matter what,” said Ivan Pace following the Bearcats 45-24 victory over Indiana.
Pace continues to show why he is one of the top defensive players in all of college football as he has been a huge weapon for defensive coordinator Mike Tressel as Pace, is a literal ball hawk and seems to have a great find for the ball as he seems to be in on just about every play on defense for the Bearcats. Pace will be looking to keep be a problem for the Bearcats defense as they head to Tulas this weekend to take on the Golden Hurricane this Saturday at 7 pm as they look to kick off conference play as they look to make it three straights consecutive AAC Championships.
