“It was an awesome performance, you look at everyone who stepped in today, Payton had an awesome match. Kerstin Ficker came in ripping serves, Madison Waters stepped in to give Avry a break and took some great out of system swings. That is part of the culture that has kept us together,” said Coach Alvey.
The Bearcats were led by Carly Glendinning who finished with a team high 16 kills and 18 digs, as she has continued to be a dominant force for the Bearcats as she now makes it nine straight matches with 10 or more kills.
“Carly is one of those athletes that is 100% committed. We have some great athletes and competitors, but she is in everyday doing extra work, there is not a day that she skips, she is always watching film, she studies the game, studies herself, the team, and I believe it paid off,” said Coach Alvey following the teams 3-1 victory over Tulsa.
Carly Glendinning and Avry Tatum continue to make strong cases for Freshman of the Year as the two combined for 29 kills, and 20 digs.
