The Bearcats got great news this afternoon as former Utah State defensive end Daniel Grzesiak announced he would be transferring to the University of Cincinnati. Gresiak will have two years of eligibility remaining after starting his career at Nevada before transferring to Utah State ahead of the 2022 season. Grzesiak, now becomes a huge boost for the Bearcats defensive line who lost two key players in guys like Jabari Taylor who would declare for the 2023 NFL Draft, and Noah Potter who transferred to NC State.
Grzesiak had a huge 2022 season for Utah State where he recorded 52 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. Bearcats head coach Scott Satterfield is known for having a defense that loves to pressure the quarterback and we saw that in the Bearcats 24-7 loss to Louisville in the Fenway Bowl. Pairing a guy like Grzesiak with guys like Jowon Briggs, Dontay Corleone, Eric Phillips and potentially Malik Vann could be something very fun to watch come 2023.
The Bearcats led the nation in tackles for loss, sacks, and more behind a stellar defense highlighted by Ivan Pace. Bearcats’ fans should expect Grzesiak to pair up with Louisville transfer Dorian Jones to take on that big role heading into the 2023 season as Pace announced earlier this week, he was off to the NFL.
