Another brutal blow for the Cincinnati defensive front.
Moments ago it was confirmed via sources that Cincinnati defensive tackle Jalen Hunt will miss the 2024 due to a knee injury sustained last week.
Hunt, was expected to be the next man up on the defensive line at nose tackle with the status of Dontay Corleone still to be determined heading into the season.
Head coach Scott Satterfield told shared with reporters early last week that Hunt believed he was in the best playing shape of his career and was ready to embrace his new role on the defensive front.
Hunt sustained a knee injury late last week at camp higher ground that kept him out of Saturday’s scrimmage at Nippert Stadium.
Satterfield noted following the scrimmage they have a better update on his injury early this week but that update feared to be the worst scenario possible.
Cincinnati’s defensive front takes yet another big time hit as All-American nose tackle Dontay Corleone status still seems uncertain for the Bearcats home opener. It’s also worth noting the Bearcats lost Eastern Michigan transfer Mikah Coleman for the season to a lower leg injury prior to fall camp.
The Bearcats will be battle tested on the defensive front here in the upcoming weeks. However, it’s worth noting this is a big blow for Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats.
