Front Office weekly rundown 6/15/12

We are back for another weekly rundown. It’s a sad week because the NBA Finals have started which means Basketball is almost over. On the bright side we will get the Olympics this year so that will help ease the summer pain. Welp let me stop rambling check out some of the events that happened this week in the world of sports.

MLB

SF Giants P Matt Cain pitched a perfect game against the Houston Astros Wednesday night. Cain had 14k’s during the outing.

The same night Cain had a perfect game NY Mets P R.A. Dickey pitched a 1 hitter versus the Tampa Bay Rays.

Colorado Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki aggravated his groin in his rehab game. I know the Rockies don’t like that news.

LA Dodgers RF Andre Ethier signed a 5 year 85 million dollar extension, with a 6th year team option worth 17.5 million.

NFL

Miami Dolphins signed WR Chad Ochocinco to a 1 year deal at the league veteran minimum with a chance at incentives. This signing will at least make HBO Hard Knocks something people will want to watch. Hopefully Chad can have a solid year but with those QB’s we will just pray for Chad.

Detriot Lions RB Mikel Leshoure will be suspended 2 games in the regular season for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Man it’s so cold in the D ain’t it?

The NFL asked Adam “Pacman” Jones (Bengals) to speak at Rookie Symposium. Jones accepted this is a good move by both parties if the rookies don’t listen to “Pacman” they won’t listen to anybody.

GOLF

Andy Zhang 14 years of age will prepare to make the US Open. Zhang will be the youngest participant in the major championship’s history. To even get a shot Zhang must me dope good luck to that young man.

NBA

Boston Celtics PF Kevin Garnett was fined 25k for not making himself available to the media after a game 7 loss to the Miami Heat.

Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus both had surgery. Allen had bone spurs removed from his right ankle which bothered him most of the season. Pietrus had surgery to clean up his right knee which bothered him all season.

NHL

Congrats to the Los Angeles Kings for winning the Stanley Cup.

That’s all we have for this week. Thanks for check out another weekly rundown. We are out until next week, PEACE.
