Why did NBC try to pull the wool over our eyes during the Vikings/Packers game?

ponder-bicepsDuring Saturday everybody was pumped about wildcard weekend. Ok, maybe not overly pumped but ready to see some football nonetheless. After the Bengals/Texans game ended there was a report that Christian Ponder wouldn’t be able to play because of a bicep or tricep injury. Once that happened there we all knew one thing and one thing only Joe Webb was going to be the Vikes QB that night in an important game at Lambeau Field on national tv.

Once that was confirmed boy if you didn’t know anything about sports you would have thought Webb should be a pro bowl QB. I’m not knocking Webb’s skills at all let that man cook but NBC from Dungy, Collinson and the gang tried hype us up. If you didn’t know any better you thought hell the Vikes have a better shot with Webb if you really think about it. The main line was Webb has 4.4 speed, 4.4 this , 4.4 that but 4.4 doesn’t allow you to throw the ball accurately and with how bad the Vikings passing game is already with Ponder you would think Webb would’ve been allowed to play way before now right?

Joe WebbI know NBC did it to try to keep the casual fans interest because it’s about the ratings but dog sometimes you have to keep it real with your viewers. Just tell us man the Vikes don’t have a chance in hell unless AP runs for 200 plus. If they say that most of us are cool with that.

Anyways I hope NBC didn’t get you last Saturday.
