The Nets are flying under the radar

In the Eastern Conference we all know that the Miami Heat rule that side of NBA land, hell we even know that right now the championship is theirs to lose. The Heat are a loaded team with LeBron James on their side of the line but this post isn’t about the Heat per say this is about a team that may be able to give the Heat a run for its money.

A lot of folks have their money in the Knicks basket as the team that can give the Heat the most trouble out of the East, which isn’t a far cry but with their injuries will they be able to battle the Heat for a best out of 7 series? With Melo playing anything is possible because we know he’s a legit superstar but his cast members will have to be healthy if they want to pull this one off.

Yes, the Knicks are the consensus favorites to challenge the Heat, but not so fast my friend the team that may give the Heat a run for its money is in New York but they reside in Brooklyn. As of late the Nets have been ballin’ holding a 5-2 record in the month of April.

Joe Johnson, Deron Williams, Brook LopezAs my homie Ron wrote last month Deron Williams has started playing the ball we are accustomed to seeing him play on a regular basis after a few cortisone shots in his ankle. They have Joe Johnson which nobody can trust but we all know he’s a good talent maybe in the playoffs him not being the number one option will help him play better and lead the Nets to wins. Brook Lopez has been ballin’ and can give opposing bigs fits, we know he doesn’t rebound like you want a 7 footer to but he’s a threat to get 20-30 points a night. Gerald “Crash” Wallace is the X-Factor he’s athletic enough to guard any wing but can he consistently score 15-20 points during the playoffs? If he can provide solid scoring the Nets will have a solid shot at least pushing the series to 6 or 7 and a slim chance to win.

I know I sound crazy saying that Nets have shot to take out the Heat but it’s possible. During the regular season the Heat waxed the Nets like a new car, so I know this case is an uphill battle but that’s why they play the game in they have a few matchups that go in their favor. I’m not guaranteeing anything but if anybody on the East is going to shock the world I’m banking on it being the Nets.

Who do you thing has the best chance beating the Heat in the Eastern Conference? Let us know!!!
