Michael Jordan Needs to Chill

Before I go on my rant I would to say that Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T. There will never be another Michael Jordan in the game of basketball. From his competitive fire to his will to win Michael Jordan is in a class by himself.  Jordan’s championship pedigree and career achievements are at the pinnacle of basketball history.

With all of that said it’s time for “His Airness” needs to take a chill pill. It seems like a few times a year Jordan talks about the younger players in this generation. This week Jordan stated that he could beat a lot of the younger players in this era of basketball including LeBron James.

I believe that everyone understands that this era of basketball is not as tough as the 1980’s and 1990’s, but you can take away things from each era to say which is better.

I feel that if Jordan played in this era he would probably average 40-45 points per game. With the new rule changes, and finesse play on the court Jordan would have his way.

On another note, how would LeBron James and Kobe Bryant play in Jordan’s era ? Take a second and think if Jeff Hornacek or Hersey Hawkins were to guard Kobe. No disrespect to those two, but c’mon now. Imagine if Chris Morris or Randy Wittman were to guard LeBron James.  I can go on and on for days about the comparisons, but it’s not worth it.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant will never reach Michael Jordan status, and they know it.  I don’t know why Jordan continues to take shot at the players in this generation knowing that they can’t play against each other. Jordan should take notes after former players like Magic Johnson, Bill Russell, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley, and try to uplift the players and give them constructive criticism.

It sucks that whatever successful player in this era will be compared to M.J., and it’s unfair to all parties.  At the end of the day everyone has their own way to create history. LeBron failed several times before succeeding as a champion as did Jordan.

Kobe took his lumps in the middle of his career, and regain his championship status. LeBron, Kobe, and the other players are creating their own legacies. Jordan’s legacy is cemented, and his playing days are over.

Relax M.J. nobody is throwing rocks at your throne relax a little. Let the young bucks flourish. You are the G.O.A.T. and everyone knows it..
