Front Office Interview with Orlando Predators Larry Ford

Larry Ford_Orlando PredatorsLast week I got to catch up with Predators defensive lineman Larry Ford. Ford is coming off of his rookie season in the AFL. He was signed late in the season after tearing up the PIFL.

Ford played for West Virgina while in college and now has been lucky enough to have fun in Florida.

Check out the Q & A session with Mr. Ford.

JT : What’s the difference trying to get the QB in the AFL oppose to College ball?

LF: The difference between getting to the QB in AFL oppose to college is in the AFL you got less time to get to QB. In the AFL it’s usually 2 seconds and the ball is gone. It’s rare to see a 5 step drop in arena ball as it is in college ball. So were taught to get our hands up a lot to bat down balls.

JT: What was the best thing about your rookie season?

LF: The best thing about my rookie season is the chemistry I built with the guys in a short period of time. I earned a lot of respect from coaches and players and they really welcomed me in as one of their own.

JT: What player do you compare yourself to?

LF: I compare myself to Dwight Freeny. I was known for my spin move this season and even though my spin move is nothing like Dwight’s I think it’s good enough to get me a few sacks here and there.

JT: Who is the best lineman you’ve played against in College or Pro?

LF: The best lineman I’ve played against in college or pro is probably Anthony Davis who plays for the 49ers right now.

JT: What part of your game will you be working on most during the offseason?

LF: This off season I will work on my size and my bull rush. I think the bull rush is a key part to anyone’s pass rush and without that there really isn’t much u could do because just about everything comes off of a good bull rush.

JT: What is something most people wouldn’t think you’d enjoy off the field?

LF: Something I enjoy off the field. Tough question. I’m a basic guy. Don’t really do much but I like watching Spongebob lol. I guess people don’t know that about me.

Good luck to Mr. Ford, make sure you check him out on twitter @Ford92 he’s a real cool follow, actually one of the first guys to checkout Front Office News on the net.
