Jeter is hanging up his Jordan cleats after the ’14 season

derek-jeter-air-jordan-xiv-14-cleats-08The great Derek Jeter announced via Facebook that he would be hanging up the Jordan cleats for good after the 2014 season.

With the announcement the 2014 season will be a farewell tour for the iconic Jeter. The 2014 season will mark Jeter’s 20th season in the Big Apple. He has been the face of the franchise for a long time, I wonder who the Yankees have groomed to takeover the Jeter flagship?

Who will be the new baseball player to takeover Jeter’s slot at Team Jordan? That’s an important question to baseball sneaker collectors.

Jeter’s career stats: .312 BA, 256 HRs, 1,261 RBIs, 3,316 Hits and 348 SBs.

Jeter leads the Yankees all time in games played, at bats, stolen bases and hits.

He is a 5x World Champion, 5x Gold Glover, 5x Silver Slugger and 13x All Star.

Hopefully Jeter gets to play his 2014 season injury free it would be sad to see him have another 2013 season during his final round.
