Monday, Chicago Bears star wide receiver Brandon Marshall signed a three year $30 million extension, with $23 million guaranteed. Marshall was heading into his last year on his deal with $10 million due to him in 2014. So basically the extension makes this a four year $40 million deal.

Marshall signed his extension on “The View” and plans on making a one million dollar donation to the Mental Health Community. I think this is the best part of the deal, we all know Marshall has documented to all of us that he works through mental health issues on a daily basis. It’s great seeing a young man take the bull by its horns and also help others in the process. We always want to document when players do bad things; we need to do a better job uplifting them when they do positive things.

Marshall is one of the elite receivers in the NFL; barring a major change in production he will see all of his $40 million due over the next four years. Since, he’s been in Chicago he’s been an automatic pick for the Pro Bowl *Two seasons in a row*. We all know his buddy Jay Cutler is excited Marshall got a new deal. Now they can focus on terrorizing opposing defenses for years to come.
