Flashback Friday: Malik Clements pick six to steal Victory Bell last year

With the Cincinnati Bearcats and Miami RedHawks meeting for the 123rd time for the Battle of the Victory Bell, I saw it fitting to post video of then safety Malik Clements (now linebacker/nickle back) getting a pick six to seal a win for the Bearcats on the road at Yager Stadium.

The 14 yard pick six by Clements of Gus Ragland gave the Bearcats a lead of 21-17 (after a two-point conversion) with 1:06 left in the fourth quarter. It was a crazy ending to push the RedHawks losing streak to 12 games in a row to the Bearcats. With a little less than five minutes left in the game they were up at home 17-6, but it wasn’t meant to be.

That was one of the craziest finishes I’ve seen since covering UC. #BearcatNation relive the play.

On Saturday will the Bearcats push the streak to 13 in a row? The game is a home game for the RedHawks, but it will be played at Paul Brown Stadium the home of the Cincinnati Bengals at 8 pm. It will air on Fox 19 and the ESPN app.
