Princeton High School to host Bearcats Red-Black scrimmage

The Bearcats Annual Red-Black scrimmage will be held at Princeton High School on October 18th at 7 p.m. This year it is a part of Coaches vs. Cancer find the information below.

This will be the first time the public gets to see the new look Bearcats since the Canadian tour and playing at Princeton is cool for the community, but it means Fifth Third Arena isn’t quite ready yet.

The University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team will hold the 2018 Red-Black scrimmage on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Princeton High School in Sharonville. Doors open at 6 p.m. with tipoff set for 7 p.m.

This year’s scrimmage benefits the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program. Admission is free. Fans can make donations to the Coaches vs. Cancer program online at www.crowdrise.com/UCCoachesvsCancer or at the event.

Seating at the arena located on campus in Viking Village is limited with a capacity of 2,500.

“The Coaches vs Cancer program is something that is very dear to me,” said UC head coach Mick Cronin, who currently serves as a board member of both the American Cancer Society in Cincinnati and the ACS’s Coaches vs. Cancer program.

“Having lost my mother, and most recently my uncle this off season to cancer, I have a strong passion to help the fight against cancer like many of my fellow NCAA coaches. I want to thank everyone in advance for donating to this great cause and hope to see you there.”

The 2018 Red-Black scrimmage is sponsored by Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers, LifeCenter Organ Donor Network and Skyline Chili.

Led by junior guard Jarron Cumberland and senior guards Justin Jenifer and Cane Broome, the 2018-19 Bearcats are coming off back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time in program history and look to defend their 2017-18 AAC regular-season and tournament championships.

UC returns to newly renovated Fifth Third Arena for an exhibition game against Tusculum on Thursday, Nov. 1, before its season opener with in-state rival Ohio State on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
