Reds trade with Yankees adds Gray to rotation

The Cincinnati Reds added another key piece to their starting rotation today acquiring Sonny Gray from the New York Yankees.

The Reds traded prospect IF Shed Long and a 2019 Competitive Balance Round A pick for Gray and minor leaguer left handed Reiver Sanmartin.

Gray signed a three year extension with a fourth year club option. He will get 7.5 million for 2019, but will an average of 10.17 million for his extension. He has a club option for 12 million in 2023.

Gray started 30 games with a 11-9 record and a 4.90 ERA.

As a Reds fan, we have hope.
