Meet one of the newest Bearcats – P/K Alex Bales

Westfield, Indiana kicker/punter Alex Bales became one of the newest members of the Cincinnati Bearcats football team when he committed yesterday afternoon.  Bales will join the rest of the 2019 class on the field this fall.  Don’t let the class ranking fool you, UC was one of the youngest teams in the nation last season so the low ranking is only due to the small number of players in the class, it will still be a tremendous talent influx come fall kickoff.

Bales was nice enough to answer a few questions for The Front Office News.  Prior to committing to UC Bales was asked if he had taken any official or unofficial visits, “I took one official visit to Washington State…I had unofficials to Michigan and Indiana.”  It should be noted that getting an Indiana kid to come to the Queen city is quite a feat in itself.  When I asked Bales what it was about Cincinnati that sold him his answer was simple, “When I stepped on campus in the fall I was instantly in love…the coaching staff is amazing and I felt at home there.”

Bales will be a great addition to what was an already incredible roster, and as for what Bearcat fans can expect from the football team when fall rolls around I think Bales summed it up best, “I see something big coming.”
