Defensive Line = A-
This has been a very strong group upfront, and not only have they been effective, but it is a position group that also runs pretty deep giving Fickell and the coaching staff the ability to rotate guys in all game and not have to worry about production drop off. Malik Vann, Myjai Sanders, Elijah Ponder, and Marcus Brown all have multiple sacks on the season from that defensive line and this doesn’t even include End/Linebacker hybrid Michael Pitts, who leads the team with 4.5 sacks on the year.
The defense will only ever be as successful as your D-Line is, they make the entire thing work with the pressure they can generate and the ability to stop the run and to this point UC has been very successful.
