TFON speaks with RB Sedrick Irvin, Jr. about his UC offer and more

NM- Awesome what coaches have you been in contact with from the University Of Cincinnati?

SI- I have been in contact with coach (Perry) Eilano.

NM- Awesome, What have you done so far this offseason to stay in shape and get ready for a strong sophomore campaign? I know with the current situation of covid-19 it is making it very hard.

SI- I actually have a private gym that I have been working out with as well as going on runs everyday with my brother.

NM- Glad to hear you still have access to the equipment. I noticed your father is your running back coach. Can you describe how much that has helped you in your career so far?

SI- It’s been a great help honestly, just knowing how far he has gone in this game and how much knowledge he has gained throughout the year’s allows me to become a better player on and off the field, including the weight room, practice, film sessions, and the game of course.

NM- Awesome I noticed his background and saw he had a lot of experience in the sport being a former running back at Michigan State University. Do you have any summer plans for any camps or anything that are still able to happen with everything going on in society?

SI- As far as camps go I don’t have anything planned as of right now.

NM- Awesome, What kind of running back would you describe yourself as? What kind of player are college coaches expecting to get in the future?

SI- I would describe myself as a hard runner with great vision. Coaches should expect a player who is always looking to get better and work hard.

NM- Awesome, who are some current or former NFL running backs you would compare yourself to?

SI- Josh Jacobs and LeSean McCoy are two of my favorites.

NM- Awesome two great running backs. What are some of of your goals for the rest of your high school career?

SI- One of my main goals is to win the state championship, as well as break some of my dad’s records (laughs).

NM- Awesome some family competiton is going on here. What would you consider your stronger aspects of the game as a running back? Where do you feel like you excel the most?

SI- Honestly, I feel like the place I excel the most is my vision on the field.

NM- Awesome, well that’s all I have for you thanks for taking your time. I wish nothing, but the best for you in the future as well as health wise for you and your family with this current pandemic going on!
