Bearcats G John Newman talks future plans on Zach Schumaker’s Show

Earlier tonight John Newman a senior from Greensboro, North Carolina told Zach Schumaker he plans to take advantage of the additional year of eligibility and become a “super senior” after the 2021-2022 season. This is big news for Wes Miller and the Bearcats basketball program, as Newman brings a lot of experience to the program as he was a starter for Clemson and had a big performance versus Duke back in 2019 where he went off for 29 points against a Duke Team that was ranked Top 5 in the nation at one point behind future #1 overall pick in the NBA draft Zion Williamson. Newman, originally transferred to Wes Miller and staff at UNCG before coach Miller took the University of Cincinnati job.

This is very exciting news for the Bearcats as Newman is a high energy player and mentioned in that interview he is very happy with what coach Miller and staff are building here in Cincinnati. This is awesome news and something to keep an eye on for the near future, as every athlete gained an extra year of eligibility due to Covid-19.
