Notre Dame finished No. 5 in the final College Football Playoff ranking. New head coach Marcus Freeman stated on the Dan Patrick Show that even though a UC loss would benefit him and his team he couldn’t root against Cincy. Freeman was the defensive coordinator from 2017-2020 and he recruited a lot of players on the current team, I thought it was dope he said that on the Dan Patrick Show.
With Cincy winning ND needed a Michigan loss and or a Georgia win to make the playoff, but it wasn’t meant to be. They will face Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl.
