Per IrishIllustrated’s Tom Loy (247 Sports) Notre Dame will be hiring Cincinnati Bearcats special teams coach Brian Mason to be their new special teams coach. Mason has been with Cincinnati for five seasons with four of them being the special teams coach so he has a relationship with Notre Dame’s new head coach Marcus Freeman.
Freeman continues to the Cincinnati to South Bend connection with hiring Mason. Now, Fickell will have to hire a new offensive coordinator and a new special teams coach sooner than later.
