Now that Camp Higher Ground is over, let’s take another look at the Bearcats running back room

Myles Montgomery- The redshirt freshman had a tremendous camp and he saw a lot of opportunities as the running back battle looks to be wide open still, but Montgomery embraced the opportunities when his number was called throughout camp and really stood out in those opportunities. The redshirt freshman has the ability be shifty in space, and really hit that second gear to burst off some big runs. Although, being in his 2nd year expect Myles Montgomery to see some action this season in the backfield.

Charles McClelland– McClelland, a redshirt senior has saw a lot of playing time throughout the last few seasons whether it was in the backfield or on special teams but has also faced a lot of adversity throughout his Bearcat career after suffering two major knee injuries in the course of his Bearcat career. McClelland is coming off a season where he rushed for 190 yards on 37 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. McClelland has been very efficient in the passing game in the last few seasons and should look to fill that role again this upcoming season.

The Bearcats running back room is actually loaded with talent between these four members and should all see some sort of action heading into the season, and will look to be a big part of the Bearcats offense heading into the 2022 season.
