Cincinnati Bearcats Midseason report card: Defense

Secondary:

This group has two new starters with Taj Ward and Ja’quan Sheppard both seniors, as well as senior Arquon Bush. This group has been very solid. Redshirt sophomore Sammy Anderson splits time with Ward in the slot has been very good as well. Freshman J.Q. Hardaway has saw some action and flashed some as well as senior Justin Harris.

Bush and Ward both have one interception.

At safety Ja’von Hicks is back for his super senior year and his new running partner is sophomore Bryon Threats who is a ball hawk who isn’t afraid to make a big hit. Hicks has 29 tackles and two interceptions and Threats has 28 tackles and an interception.

This isn’t your Gardner, Bryant and Cook secondary, but these young men have been very good in the first six games.
