Cincinnati Bearcats Midseason report card: Defense

Special teams:

This group has some bright spots we will dive into all units.

The kick returning game hasn’t had it’s normal big plays, but they haven’t have their normal opportunities. Tre Tucker leads the way with four returns for 85 yards.

The punt returning game has had multiple returners due to injuries Tucker, Thompson and Ry. Montgomery have all held duties. Montgomery is back and has two returns for 43 yards.

Senior transfer kicker Ryan Coe hasn’t been as solid as expected this season currently 4-of-7 in field goal attempts missing his only attempt from 40 plus yards, his long for the season is 39 yards. Hopefully Coe can knock a few more down in the Bearcats remaining schedule.

Sophomore punter Mason Fletcher has been an all star all season. With 28 punts with an average of 45.9 yards per punt, 14 inside the 20, 12 fair caught, seven punts 50 plus yards and a long of 67 yards.
