Bearcats OC/QB Coach Gino Guidugli reportedly out of the head coach search

Yesterday, Justin Williams of The Athletic reported that offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli is no longer in contention to be the next head coach. Reports before he was out of contention is that if he didn’t get the job he’d go to Wisconsin with Luke Fickell. Current and former players made a big push for Guidugli, but it wasn’t enough for the rising star.

Guidugli will not coach in the Bearcats bowl game.

As of now it seems to be Kerry Coombs (current interim head coach), Sean Lewis (Kent State head coach) and Mo Linguist (Buffalo head coach).

John Cunningham has always played it close to the vest so who knows if they are secretly vetting somebody else.

Sooner than later Cincinnati will have their next coach. Clifton will miss Guidugli as he’s given a lot to this program present and past.
