Emory Jones leads the Bearcats en route over EKU in season opener, 66-13

Bearcats’ fans, the time has officially come. After nearly 1.5 years of waiting, the Bearcats finally get to hit the ground running in the Big XII. This season will look a little different from years prior after Luke Fickell left for Wisconsion last November, a roster of 33 new scholarship players, a new staff and more.

It’s been a long 10 months, since the University of Cincinnati formally announced Scott Satterfield as the programs 42nd head coach, but Satterfield and the Bearcats are ready to take the Big XII by storm. Fast forward to now, the time has officially come for Bearcats nation as they welcome FCS Powerhouse EKU to historic Nippert Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd.

However, for the Bearcats, they will be led by super senior quarterback Emory Jones on offense, while defensive lineman Dontay Corleone and Jowon Briggs look to anchor the Bearcats defense in the trenches. The Bearcats defense will be the main focus heading into this one, as the Colonels run a quick, fast tempo offense highlighted by 6th year quarterback Parker McKinney. McKinney one of the best FCS quarterbacks currently holds the Colonels all-time record in passing attempts (1,300), completions (816), passing yards (9,718), passing touchdowns (74), total offense (11,164) yards.
