FRANKIE’S FORENSICS: Looking at Players to Watch vs No. 25 Texas

4. #5 Kadin Shedrick, F, 6’11”, 231 lbs., Graduate Student, Holly Springs, North Carolina, Virginia Transfer
11 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 58.3 FG%, 72.9 FT%, 19 blk, 16 stl
Shedrick is second on the team in field goal percentage, but he’s been in a bit of a slump of late. Over his last five games, he’s only made 13 of 30 field goals and his scoring average has dropped two points per game, and he has not made a three-point shot in a month. Also of note, his mother Cindy competed on the Cincinnati club rowing team.

5. #1 Dylan Disu, F, 6’9″, 225 lbs., Graduate Student, Pflugerville, Texas
11 ppg, 3 rpg, 46.3 FG%, 91.2 FT% (has only played in five games this season)
Disu was a star in Texas’s run to the Elite Eight last year, and he’s had a solid start to this season after missing the first nine games. In last year’s tournament, Disu averaged a double-double in the first two rounds. That came just a week after being named the Most Outstanding Player in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

6. #9 Ithiel Horton, G, 6’5″, 200 lbs., Graduate Student, Vauxhall, New Jersey, UCF Transfer
8.1 ppg, 40.4 FG%, 38% FG
You might remember Horton from last year when he was with UCF. He was a key player on the Knights, leading the team with 78 three-point makes while ranking in the top five on the team in five other statistical categories. Horton got off to a strong start this season, but he’s only hit double-digit points in one of his previous seven games this season.

7. #30 Brock Cunningham, F, 6’6″, 210 lbs., Graduate Student, Austin, Texas
5.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 38.8 FG%, 35.9 3-PT FG%, 10-11 FT, 20 stl

A hometown kid from Austin, Texas, Cunningham is in his sixth season with the program. He entered this season with 113 games played in his career and is a capable shooter.

8. Ze’rik Onyema F 6’8″ 235 lbs. Jr. El Paso, Texas UTEP transfer
4.8 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 43.8 FG%

Onyema followed head coach Rodney Terry to Texas from UTEP, where he redshirted under Terry in the 2020-21 season. Last year, Onyema led the Miners in field goal percentage and ranked second on the team in rebounding.
