Are the Philadelphia Eagles Ready to Take Flight?

Andy Reid and Michael Vick are under immense pressure this season. After being dubbed the dream team last season by wonderlic test wonder Vince Young the Eagles failed to reach the lofty expectations.

Last season the Eagles issues were all over the field.  Fingers were pointed to the offensive line, defensive coordinator Juan Castillio, Michael Vick’s inability to stay healthy, and DeSean Jackson’s James Thrash like play. The Eagles finished the season on a high note and will look to make a move toward NFC supremacy.

The NFC East is usually a tough conference and the Eagles look to snatch the crown from the New York Giants. If Michael Vick can stay healthy the Eagles will be in position to compete with the likes of the Giants, Saints, Packers, and San Francisco 49ers to make a trip to New Orleans for the Super Bowl.

Pleasing the Philadelphia faithful is not an easy task. If the Eagles don’t make any improvements this season there will be changes made during the off-season. This is one of few teams that does not have a true weakness.  Questions will continue to surface until progress is made. Now that DeSean has his new chain and a big pay-day, will he be ready to play?  I believe so, but you never know how players can react after a big pay-day.

Time is ticking for these birds to take flight. With players such as LeSean McCoy, Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, Trent Cole, and Nnamdi Asomugha there is no excuse to remain grounded.  The season kicks off in a few weeks. We shall see if the Eagles are ready for lift off.

  1. This team is legit but it has two problems a skep line and Vick is injury prone. Those two don’t mix because of the law of averages. I hope Vick can survive man.
