2012 Week 6: NFL Games of the Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans kicked off our football week in great fashion. This week like the weeks before will feature many marquee match-ups.  We hope you enjoy our selections. Please feel free to express your opinion about our choices for games of the week.

Dallas Cowboys @ Baltimore Ravens, 1:00pm, ET

Both teams are coming off of a bye week, so there may be signs of rust in the early part of this game. The Ravens are undefeated at home thus far, and will look to continue that trend versus Jerry’s boys. The Cowboys are in need of a win after looking like a Pop Warner team in their last contest with the Chicago Bears.  Tony Romo had a tough outing against the Bears, and now he is facing an even more potent defense. It will be a long day for the Cowboys, the Ravens will coast to a victory.

New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers, 4:25pm, ET

The last time these two teams met Kyle Williams muffed his way into a few death threats, and the Giants went on and won the Super Bowl. As an angry 49er fan I hope for a little revenge lol. The 49ers displayed an air attack last week versus the Buffalo Bills which make them more dangerous, and  Eli & Co. will test the 49ers defense with his own air attack.  The Giants have been inconsistent this season so I look forward to seeing the 49ers winning the game making it a sweep against the state of New York.

Green Bay Packers @ Houston Texans, 8:20pm, ET

The Packers are slumping, and the Texans are looking like the best team in football. The Texans possess a balance attack on the offense side of the ball, and J.J. Watt is looking the early favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award.  Though, the Texans are looking great I feel that they will take a step back this week against the Packers. The Packers took a blow by losing Cedric Benson, but now that puts the ball back in Aaron Rodgers hands more often. The passing game has been struggling, but look for it to pick up steam against the Texans.

Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers, 8:30pm, ET

The storied rivalry between both teams gets an added twist to it this season with the addition of Peyton Manning to the Broncos. The Broncos are on a slide, and need a win to tie the Chargers for the division lead. Peyton Manning has looked sharp, but the victories have yet to pile up. It is obvious that Manning struggles against the Chargers dating back to his days with the Colts, but Shawne Merriman, Antonio Cromartie, and Jamal Williams are not on the opposing defense anymore. I expect this game to be a shootout with two gun slinging quarterbacks in Rivers and Manning, but I will give the edge to Manning and the Broncos over the Bolts.
