Michael Vick Has Been Named The Starting Quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles

This week news broke that Michael Vick will begin the season as the Philadelphia Eagles starting Quarterback. New Head Coach Chip Kelly fielded a QB competition between Michael Vick and Nick Foles. Kelly, who is bringing his high octane offense from Oregon was looking for the perfect fit to run his unique system.

Michael Vick has had issues with turnovers and staying healthy the past few seasons, but appeared to fit the system the best due to his skillset. The past two seasons have been a disaster for Vick, and things can only go up from this point forward.

The NFL East is always a brutal division, and it seems that whoever has the best quarterback play normally wins the division. With Tony Romo, Eli Manning, and RGIII all in the fold Vick and the Eagles have their work cut out for them. Even though I am not an Eagles fan I am pulling for Vick.

If you watched the Eagles play last season it was obvious that the team quit on then Head Coach Andy Reid early in the season. The offensive line was horrid, and the defense lacked the effort that was needed on the field to produce. With a new coaching staff on board Vick and the Eagles will likely have a breath of fresh air, and may go back to their winning ways.

Time is ticking in Philly for them to finally reach their potential as a team. The same goes for Michael Vick as well. I hope he delivers and quiets his haters as he has done so in the past. Let’s just say a prayer for the offensive line that almost got him killed last season, and hope that they have repent for their sins on the football field.

If the O-line protects Vick, and he protects the ball Philly fans should have zero worries.
