Death to Monday Night Football

It seems like this football season has been cursed for Monday Night Football. I know the games are selected in advance, but it seems like the worse games of the week are now played on Monday nights. As I try to watch the Dolphins and Buccaneers game tonight, I don’t know whether to deal with the shenanigans on VH1, or to struggle watching another boring Monday Night Football game.

When I was younger I always looked forward to Monday nights. Between watching WCW, WWF, and Monday Night Football I sneaked and stayed up past my bedtime on several occasions.

Now it seems like Monday Nights are pure struggle. Sunday Night Football on NBC has taken the slot for prime time football, but something has to shake for ESPN and Monday Night Football. If it were not for the pregame show, Mike Tirico’s expertise and Jon Gruden’s weekly love fest of whoever is playing, Monday Night Football would really be on the downward spiral.

As I look ahead to next week schedule I see a great match up between the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers. I hope the football Gods look out for fans, and save us from watching the worse game of the week on Monday Night.
