This college basketball season we have heard all about super freshmen Julius Randle, Jabari Parker, Tyler Ennis, Andrew Wiggins, Aaron Gordon, and Joel Embiid. I’m not taking anything away from the names mentioned, but there are a few hidden gems having successful seasons as well.

One of those under the radar players is swingman Sindarius Thornwell. Thornwell plays for the South Carolina Gamecocks, and is one the best kept secrets in college basketball. Thornwell is averaging 13.7 ppg to go along with 4.0 rpg. The Gamecocks are struggling this season, but Thornwell has been a bright spot.

A lot of fans and analyst get caught up in the potential one and done prospects, and the other quality freshman players get lost in the shuffle. Thornwell recently won SEC Freshman of the Week, and this shows you that Thornwell can hold his own with anybody.

Thornwell is slowly but surely becoming a big name in College Hoops. Fans around the country need to take notice, and recognize his talents.
