Reports Iowa State LB Coach/Assc. HC Tyson Veidt to be Cincinnati’s next defensive coordinator

This morning, multiple reports are stating Iowa State Cyclones linebacker coach/associate head coach Tyson Veidt will be the Cincinnati Bearcats new defensive coordinator. Bryan Brown recently left for Ole Miss and Veidt will replace the highly touted coach.

The Logan, Ohio native has been coaching since 1997. Starting off as a graduate assistant Muskingum (1997/1998), Indiana (GA, 1999), Muskingum (defensive coordinator, 2000/2003), West Virginia (GA, 2004/2005), Saint Vincent (DC, 2006/2007), Bluffton (head coach, 2008/2013), Toledo (linebackers coach, 2014/2015) and Iowa State (2016-2023).

Iowa State has been known to have one of the best defenses in the country over the past few years and linebacker play is always key to a dominate defense. Having Ohio ties is a great as well, now it is a Veidt defensive era!
