NBA Draft: Tanking Pays off for the Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers tanked their way to 3rd selection in the NBA Draft. The Sixers also pick No.10, and they have a great luxury to add a few quality players to a roster that definitely needs it. Despite having an abysmal season the 76ers have a bright future.

Michael Carter-Williams cemented himself in the NBA, and the 76ers still have Nerlens Noel on deck, who hasn’t played as of yet. The Sixers are lucky to have the two picks in such a deep draft so they could easily walk away with Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon, Marcus Smart, or Julius Randle, . I am guessing that Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid will be off the board, but that doesn’t mean that it is the end of the world for the Sixers.

It’s always risky to tank your season, but in the Sixers case they lucked up that it is such a deep pool of talent. The Sixers didn’t have many wins this season, but they definitely won on NBA Draft Lottery night.

  1. Tanking champs.. they got a lot of free money, with the right picks in a couple years they should be in the mix
