We won’t get another epic match up between Tia and Tamara, I mean Venus and Serena anytime soon. Both sisters took an “L” on Wednesday.
Both sisters were eliminated in the second round. Venus lost to nineteen year old Anna Schmiedlova which didn’t come as a huge surprise because she’s been showing her own age recently(34). Serena on the other hand is the French open champ and number one ranked player in the world. She lost to twenty year old Garbine Muguruza rather quickly in little over an hour. The four games Serena won in the match were her fewest in 288 Grand Slam matches. It’s been a pretty disappointing season for Serena arguably the best female athlete ever, as voiced even by her.
These two seem to always find something to push them back to the top of the bunch though, and I suspect they will defy the odds once more.
