NBA Finals: San Antonio Spurs X-Factor!

Boris+DiawThis week we are going to highlight X-Factor’s for both NBA Finals teams (Heat and Spurs). Today we are shining the light on the Spurs.

The Spurs have been America’s least favorite team. If it wasn’t for the Heat making the Finals ratings would be down, we all know that. It’s because the Spurs play ball the right way, not very flashing and they don’t seem to have a personality. Hell they barely get hairlines down in San Antonio. This team lost last years finals in a devastating fashion and for them to be here in this position for a chance of revenge is a testament of their heart. Led by Coach Popovich, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, the player who will be the X-Factor of this series is Boris Diaw.

Diaw’s numbers are not eye popping, but what he provides off the bench is. Diaw is averaging 8.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg  and 2.8 apg during the playoffs. He gives the Spurs a lot versatility being able to play the 3 or 4, pass like a guard, shoot from outside, post up smaller players and exc. He will be able to guard multiple positions either in the post or on the wing which is a huge plus for Pop, especially when playing against the Heat.

A lot of people will point to Kawhi Leonard as the X-Factor of this series and they will have valid points, but I think he will be in the forefront because of his success during the playoffs and his head to head matchup with LeBron James. If Boris continues to play well the Spurs will have a legit shot at shocking the Heat this year.

Who do you think the Spurs X-Factor will be? Do you agree with my pick?
