Top 5 Reasons Memphis Will Win the AAC in 2015

Last year there was a three way tie at the top of the conference between Memphis, Cincinnati and Central Florida. This year the champion of the American won’t have to worry about a tie because with the addition of Navy they will have a title game this season. I know it’s early summer, but I’m going to give you 5 reasons why Memphis is going to win the American this year.

1. Paxton Lynch: Lynch was 2nd team all AAC last year. The QB is heading into his junior season so he is bound to improve. He plays in the AAC so sorry AAC fans he doesn’t have to worry about a ton of teams knocking him off his throne.

2. They won their last bowl game: Who is coming into this season with more momentum than the Tigers? Honestly not many teams in the AAC because they won their bowl against BYU.

3. The Tigers have one of the best defenses in the country: They were ranked 11th in overall points against last year at 19.5. Even with a lot of losses on the defensive side of the ball the Tigers should be able to keep up the aggressive style of play to cause teams to be stymied on a consistent basis.

4. Head Coach Justin Fuente: in three years Fuente has turned the program around. The Tigers have went from a C-USA/AAC doormat to a serious threat within his time. Season four should be even better right?

5. Nobody in the AAC has more fight than the Tigers: Hey Tigers fans, win or lose, at least we know this team isn’t scared of anybody. I mean they got into a brawl with BYU on national TV. That has to count for something right? Do you want to square up with the Tigers?

Hey AAC followers, these are the reasons I believe the Tigers will win the AAC this year. You can meet me in the comment section to let us know if you agree or disagree. In December we will find out if I’m right or wrong.
