Cincinnati Quarterback Returns to Team with Past Behind Him

During the Bearcats 2014 campaign, Jarred Evans – then a quarterback on the Cincinnati roster, got into an altercation in the streets of the Queen City that ended his season prematurely. As a result, Evans was missed by UC during his absence due to the injuries sustained by Gunner Kiel and Munchie Legaux.

With the legal situation behind Evans, he has returned to the Bearcats for his senior season. Bearcats fans all over have welcomed him back, but Evans is no longer a quarterback. What position is playing now? Safety and I hear some cornerback.

Evans was a dual threat quarterback so the traits that made him dangerous as a quarterback will fare well in his switch to the secondary. This move may prolong his career if he pops in the back end of the defense. If you watched the Bearcats any last year you know they can use all the help available in the defensive backfield.

It’s cool to see a kid get a second chance and take advantage of it. I wonder if they will use Evans on offense via any trick plays. If the kid is explosive enough to play in the secondary, that may be something Mr. Gran should look into. Hopefully Evans is able to make the most of the opportunity and we look forward to see if he can make plays on the back end of the defense.
