Trio of Cincinnati Wide Receivers Could Be Nation’s Best

The Bearcats may have the best quarterback in the American Athletic Conference with Gunner Kiel, but for those who don’t check the Bearcats “on the regular”, I’m here to tell you that Cincinnati may also have the best receiving trio in the AAC, if not the nation.

The Bearcats are deep at receiver and I’m narrowing it down to only three just so I don’t get long winded today. Sorry Max Morrison and Johnny Holton, I’m not trying to short change you guys, but the trio I’m talking about here is Mekale McKay, Chris Moore and Shaq Washington.

These three are half of the six Bearcats on the Senior Bowl Watch List and all three have a strong possibility in playing on Sunday’s next season.

ShaqI’ve already talked about Shaq Washington come close to being UC’s all-time leader in receptions and barring injury will more than likely have the record by seasons end. Washington is lighting quick and a nightmare in the slot.

McKay is the genetic freak of the group, standing at 6’5″ he has the height of a shooting guard and displays big play ability on a consistent basis. Last year McKay had 44 catches for 725 yards and 8 touchdowns for an average of 16.5 yards per catch. So to talk about big play ability just look for McKay to provide that dynamic.

Moore might’ve had the best college game I’ve ever seen by an individual last season. Moore torched the current National Champion “the” Ohio State Buckeyes for 221 yards on 3 receptions and 3 touchdowns. He had touchdowns of 60, 83 and 78 yards. Moore is the middle man of the group, which possesses blazing speed.

Gunner Kiel is in quarterback heaven with these three because they all have the ability to make game changing plays every week. All three of these guys have a chance to play at the next level which means defensive backs will need to bring their lunch when they play UC.
