Metta World Peace a.k.a. Ron Artest comes back to Los Angeles for his second stint

First off I want to say his momma named him Ron, I’m gonna call him Ron. Now personally I don’t know if I was face to face with Metta World Peace I would call him Ron, I bet James Harden called him Ron before he got hit with a Lex Luger elbow when he still played for the Thunder.

This week the Los Angeles Lakers resigned the 35 year old swing man to a one year non-guaranteed deal. World Peace played overseas last season, so I personally was shocked when the rumors were going around that the Lakers were going to resign him. Throughout the summer reports stated he was at the Lakers practice facilities on a daily basis. He must’ve impressed while at the facilities because we are here now.

This is a low risk signing because it’s probably just a veteran minimum deal and if he doesn’t play good in training camp I’m pretty sure they can get rid of him for a very low cost. World Peace won’t be the defensive stopper he was earlier in his career, but he should still be solid, hit a couple of three’s and be a physical enforcer in a limited role this season if he makes it to the regular season roster.

World Peace is one of my favorite players to watch and even a better interview, so at worst maybe we can get some quality interviews like in the past.

World Peace has career averages of 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game in his 15 years of experience. I wouldn’t expect him to match those numbers this 2015-16 NBA season.
