QB Brandon Wimbush grad transferring from Notre Dame to UCF

Well today the American Athletic Conference got a well-known name to enter as quarterback Brandon Wimbush is transferring from Notre Dame to UCF. Wimbush was the started at Notre Dame in 2017 and in the beginning of 2018 before Brian Kelly made the switch to Ian Book.

Wimbush is a graduate transfer so he is eligible to play immediately and will battle Darriel Mack, Jr. for the starting spot considering McKenzie Melton had a horrific late season knee injury that he has already had four surgeries on with a fifth one pending.

He was 54-of-102 for 719 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 256 yards and a touchdown.

Accuracy hasn’t been one of his strong points, but he is a playmaker and will be somebody that the AAC will have to watch out for. It will be interesting when UCF comes to Cincinnati this season.
