Vontaze Burfict era over as Bengals release linebacker

The Vontaze Burfict era is over in Cincinnati. It was a rollercoaster ride for the linebacker in Cincinnati. At his peak he was one of the best linebackers in the NFL, but injuries have slowed down the linebacker so at the end of the day the slowed down production topped with the penalties led this release. I’m pretty sure the new coaches want to start anew especially with this core being one of the weakest on the team.

Burfict was due to make $5 million in base salary, with up $2.25 million in per-game roster bonuses. The Bengals will take a $1.8 million cap hit with the release.

I’m pretty sure somebody will bring in the 28-year-old linebacker at a lower cost and see if he can provide an old spark. We just know it won’t be at the three-year $32.5 million deal he signed at the end of the 2017 season.
