A few former Bearcats get opportunities in Hall of Fame Game

The Hall of Fame Game is held in Canton, Ohio yearly and it is the start of NFL Preseason. This year it featured the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. Depending on if you are a fan of either team maybe you didn’t have peak interest in the game, who am I to judge?

For Cincinnati Bearcats fans it was a few reasons to pay attention as three former Bearcats suited up last night. Wide receivers Kahlil Lewis and Devin Gray suited up for the Falcons, while cornerback Linden Stephens suited up for the Broncos.

The Broncos won 14-10 so, Stephens gets the last laugh at his two former teammates on that front. Lewis is a rookie looking to make the squad and hopefully he can make a roster or practice squad this season. Gray is in his second year after spending last season on the Falcons practice squad, hopefully he can make the roster this year. Stephens is in his second year after bouncing around some last season spending time on the Rams, Saints and Broncos practice squad hopefully he can make a roster push this year.

I’m rooting for all three of these young men hopefully are able to keep their NFL reality going as long as possible.

Former Bearcats stats:

Lewis: 2 catches, 14 yards (4 targets)

Gray: 1 catch, 4 yards (3 targets)

Stephens: 2 tackles
