Falcons QB Desmond Ridder tells story on how nobody immediately called Jets CB Ahmad Gardner “Sauce” at UC

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder recently got interviewed and when asked about former college teammate Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, he told a story about how nobody called him “Sauce” at first. Gardner now plays for the New York Jets and is the current Rookie Defensive Player of the Year, but if you’ve followed the program you knew former head coach Luke Fickell didn’t call him “Sauce” until he was drafted and former defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman (current Notre Dame head coach) wouldn’t address him as “Sauce” until he made some plays on the field.

Check out the clip with Ridder talking about Gardner!

Shout out to Darrick Forrest for confirming that Ridder is telling the truth (lol).
