Now I will say this Tyson Veidt’s new defensive scheme could be something that plays to Cincinnati’s strengths. A room that should allow the linebackers to get uphill and attack, which was something we saw on Saturday. Now, the Linebacker room currently features returners Dorian Jones, Jonathan Thompson, and Jack Dingle, alongside West Virginia transfer Jared Bartlett.
Dingle burst onto the scene in 2023 during his sophomore campaign as the Louisville, Kentucky native finished with a career-high 55 tackles and one sack a season ago. However, Dingle is looking to take an even leap in 2024.
“My confidence is through the roof right now,” Dingle told reporters. ” I am a leader on this team. I’m still learning the new defense, but we are going to continue to improve. You learn from last year and build from it. We have learned from it, went back, and watched the film to see what we can do better. We’re going to start from scratch and see what we can do to improve.”
The Bearcats will now take some time off after their three-week spring camp comes to a close. However, they will quickly turn their focus to the next step of the offseason as they prepare for the second transfer portal window to open on Monday.
“We like where we are at with our team right now,” Satterfield told reporters. “It is all about culture and connecting and having a right fit. This is a tight team, they are working really hard to connect with each other. We have a couple more scholarships available and we look to add a couple more guys to come in the mix for depth or potential starters.”
