WBB: Dee Alexander includes Bearcats in Top 3

Moments ago, 2025 top-five prospect Dee Alexander released her final three schools via social media. The final three schools included Cincinnati, Illinois and Ohio State.

Alexander is viewed as a Top-5 prospect in the class of 2025 and holds over 35 Division one offers. Alexander, a 6’1” combo guard that can do it all on both ends of the court after displaying her incredible talents throughout her high school career. It’s also worth noting that Alexander has been garnering national attention since her seventh grade season where she picked up her first division one offer.

The talented junior won a gold medal last summer with the United States U16 national team down in Mexico. Alexander was recently just 1 of 38 players invited to participate in the 2024 Team USA Woman’s Junior National Team Minicamp that took place in Portland two weeks ago.

Alexander, was also recently named Ms. Ohio Basketball for the second time in consecutive seasons becoming the first player to achieve such feat in the state of Ohio.

Katrina Merriweather and the Bearcats staff have made Alexander a priority since coming to Cincinnati last spring. It is worth noting that the Bearcats sent four coaches to Cleveland to watch Alexander capture her third State title per sources.

The talented junior has the ability to become one of the greatest to ever rock the red and black if she elects to choose the Bearcats. Alexander is an elite three level scorer with the ability to take over games in an instinct. However, she also has the ability to be an elite defender as well due to her size and physicality

It is clear to see that Cincinnati is all in on the local phenom. Katrina Merriweather and the Cincinnati staff have preached about the impact in keeping the best players right here in Cincinnati. However, if they’re able to land a talent like Alexander, it could potentially put Cincinnati Woman’s Basketball back into national conversation in just a very short time.
