Front Office weekly rundown 7/20/12

Welcome back to another week of the weekly rundown. This week a lot people got broke off with fat contracts. The NFL and NBA had a lot of movement check it out!!

NCAA

Pittsburgh and Syracuse will join the ACC July 1st, 2013. They both will pay 7.5 million to the Big East Conference. With these teams leaving early I wonder if teams will enter the Big East early?

NBA

JaVale McGee got cashed out by the Nuggets at the tune of 4 years 44 million. It pays to be a big man nowadays boy I tell ya… shoutout to Ree and Won for the quote.

Antwan Jamison signed with the Lakers for 1 year at the veteran minimum. Jamison will provide punch off of the Lakers bench something they didn’t have much of last year.

Grant Hill signed with the other team from LA. Yes, the Clippers, for 2 years. The 39 year old will be in the same arena as his close friend Steve Nash just on the other team.

Kris Humphries aka Kris K resigned with the Nets. Kris received a 2 year 24 million dollar deal. I guess Kanye didn’t get Jay to drop him from the team?

This week was OJ Mayo week on the front office news dot com we had two post on him. If you have been following us you know OJ signed with the Mavs for 2 year at around 8 million dollars. OJ should be the starting two guard for the Mavs and should be able to get his name back in the spotlight again.

The Knicks traded for PG Raymond Felton from the Blazers. Which pretty much signed and sealed the doom of Linsanity in NY. Felton got a 3 year deal around 10 million dollars

The Rockets did a sign and trade with the Celtics to give up SG Courtney Lee. The Rockets will receive E’TwaunMoore, JaJuan Johnson, Sean Williams and a 2nd round pick.

MLB

Joey Votto will be out for 3-4 weeks after having surgery on his torn meniscus. This is a big loss for the 1st place Reds.

David Ortiz has an Achilles strain that has forced him to the 15 day DL. This is a big loss for the Red Sox.

OF Jose Bautista hurt his wrist. The Blue Jays star landed on the 15 day DL. It hasn’t been a good week for power hitters.

Yankees OF Brett Gardner will undergo season ending surgery on his right elbow. This is a big lost for the Yanks it will force them to make a move to get another outfielder.

NFL

RB Ray Rice got cashed out by the Ravens this week. Rice received a 5 year 40 million dollar deal, this year he will receive 17 million and next year he will receive 8 million. I ain’t mad at him at all get paid homie get paid.

RB Matt Forte also got cashed out by the Bears this week. Forte received a 4 year 32 million dollar deal with 18 million guaranteed. I’m glad the Bears took care of him because it was looking like they were not going to pay the man who has been their offense for the last few years.

Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil got in trouble with the law. Is currently being charged with felony aggravated assault with a firearm. Hopefully Elvis did it for a legit reason otherwise Mr. Goodell might be at his front door for pulling that pistol out.

WR Dez Bryant of the Cowboys has been in the public eye this week with an alleged altercation with his mother. Let’s hope the truth comes to the light for this kid. Hopefully he can turn another leaf and have a great 2012 season.

The Saints finally came to their senses and signed QB Drew Brees. Brees got cashed out 5 years at 100 million dollars. The 1st year he will get 40 million and guaranteed 60 million. Man can Drew hook me up with a few bucks? With all of the bad stuff happening to the Saints this is a positive move.
Thanks for checking out this weeks rundown. PEACE!!
