2012 Week 9: College Football games of the Week

Last week we found out the Mountaineers defense can stop a flag football team, Florida is getting better every week, Notre Dame has a lot of good luck and Kenny Guiton is the most popular backup QB in college football history.

We batted 50% on picks last week lets see which games we are rolling with this weekend.

Friday 10/26

Cincinnati @ #16 Louisville, ESPN, 8 pm- In the wild Big East this is a chance for one of these teams to get the one up on the other. Louisville is fresh off of a thrilling win over USF and Cincy is fresh off of a shocking loss to Toledo. This will be a battle between two good QB’s (Bridgewater and Legaux). Defense will be key on Friday night.

Saturday 10/27

#2 Florida vs #10 Georgia, CBS, 3:30 pm– In the SEC each week is a new test. The Gators are fresh off of victories against the Tigers and Gamecocks, now they will face the Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs want to shock the world Murray and the troops have to do it against the Gators. The Gators run, run, run and play defense which will lead to a high chance of victory. Will Georgia shake up the BCS?

#14 Texas Tech @ #3 Kansas St., FOX, 3:30 pm– The two surprise teams meet in the Big XII. With Heisman hopefully Collen Klein playing at home it’s going to be hard for Tech to pull off this upset. Tech’s defense will have to play even better than they have to pull off this road win.

#5 Notre Dame @ #8 Oklahoma, ABC, 8 pm– This game is important to both programs BCS hopes. If the Irish pull off this win it will spring-board their program back into the national powerhouse spotlight, if they lose it’s just the same ole Irish. With the Sooners they are known to blow a game or two during the season with the loss to K State not embarrassing at all if they can knock the Irish off they may be able to sneak into BCS talks. This may be the biggest game of the weekend.

#11 Mississippi St. @ #1 Alabama, ESPN, 8:30 pm– I personally don’t give Mississippi St much of a chance because of how dominant the Tide have been. Alabama has a very strong defense with a dope running game and a solid passing attack. The only way you have a shot is if you can score and control the running game. That last fact is very important if State wants to pull off the big upset.

Two Upset Alerts Games:

#22 Michigan @ Nebraska, ESPN 2, 8:30 pm

#24 Ohio @ Miami of Ohio, ESPN 3, 3:30 pm

These are the games we picked for this week, let us know what games you will be watching. Until next week, PEACE!
