What We Learned in Week 14 of the NFL Season

Week in and week out there are great games to go along with some amazing story lines. Week 14 continued a great trend of great moments during the football week. Feel free to chime in and comment on our selections if you like. Enjoy!

How does Drew Brees get a pass for his Phillip Rivers type of play– Brees has been a turnover machine, and it’s likely that the Saints will be watching the playoffs from home. This was a bad year for the Saints, and Brees should garner some criticism for his recent play. If the turnover issue was cut in half the Saints could have been at the top of the NFC wildcard spot.

Adrian+PetersonAdrian Peterson For MVP– Deion Sanders said it best that the NFL’s MVP award should be called the MVQP due Quarterbacks winning the award year after year. Peterson is looking better than ever coming off of a complete ACL tear. If Peterson keeps his steady pace he will top 2,000 yards. With Peterson facing nine players in the box due to an inept passing game it only makes the achievement even sweeter.

Ken Whisenhunt W ill  Be Fired– Yes, Ken Whisenhunt took the Cardinals out of the dumps, but he is taking them back where they came from. Losing 58-0 in the NFL is absurd, and it also shows that the team has a lack of effort for the head coach.  There will be better days for Cardinals fans.

The Dallas Cowboys Showed Heart– In the middle  of tragic moment the Dallas Cowboys played a solid game and beat the Bengals 20-19. This victory showed that the team has a lot of fight in them. The Cowboys are always at the butt of many jokes, but they have been playing some solid football as of late.

Nobody will trust the Atlanta Falcons or Houston Texans Until Playoff Time– Both teams proved that they are frauds this past weekend. Yes, winning in the regular season puts you in position to have better success in the playoffs, but when it comes to these two squads they need to prove more to gain respect. We shall see how things will shake up when playoff time rolls around.

Is Joe Flacco’s Days numbered The Ravens fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron due to his horrible playcalling. Flacco is a free agent, and will look to  make a lasting  impression on the Ravens front office. Flacco’s recent play has not made his free agent case any easier for him to woo the Ravens over with the expectation of receiving a top dollar contract. It’s obvious that Flacco would want a pay-day larger than what he is worth, so it may be best to let him go. Things will get interesting in Baltimore.
