The Best College QB right now not named Manziel

Everybody in America right now knows who Johnny Manziel aka Johnny Football bka Johnny Heisman, Johnny Front Row and whatever else you want to call him. We know Johnny is a beast on the field and he gets love from the media which he deserves being a redshirt freshman that took the NCAA by storm last season. If you haven’t been playing attention its been Johnny’s world in we are just living in it but there is a kid in Louisville that’s screaming not so fast my friend in his best Lee Corso impression.

bridgewaterThe kid in Louisville name is Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy B is what I’ll call him during this post, yeah Teddy B. put the NCAA on full notice last year with his great sophomore season. He led the Cardinals to Big East Championship and to a BCS Bowl. They didn’t play a cupcake in the Bowl either they played Florida of the Big Dog SEC conference and what did Teddy B and Cardinals do to the Gators? Purely wax that ass on national tv. Young Bridgewater cooked that vaunted Gators defense like a burger at Authur’s *my Nati folks know what I’m talking bout*.

What is so impressive about Teddy B is you can see the improvement from his true freshman year to his sophomore year. I saw him play the Bearcats at Paul Brown Stadium during his freshman year and you can see the growth from that game to now. He was a QB that used the run (running in the pocket to buy time) to allow him to throw and didn’t make quick reads as most true freshman at that stage in their career. During his Sophomore year the kid was shredding defenses with his arm faster than a ginsu. Most QB’s take 2 or 3 years to make this drastic amount of improvement but Teddy did it over one summer, which makes his Junior year that much more exciting to follow what is he going to do next?

Note:

2011 Stats: 2129 yards, 14 tds, 12 ints, and 64.5%

2012 Stats: 3718 yards, 27 tds, 8 ints, 68.5%

I know the world will be watching Johnny Football but everybody needs to jump on the Bridgewater bandwagon before its too late.
