Drama in Naptown

On Tuesday night I watched an entire game end up 102-79 in favor of the scrappy Washington Wizards.  On the brink of elimination down 3-1 in a best of seven series john Wall marched his team into Bankers Life Fieldhouse and smacked the Pacers around for a couple hours in a game featured on TNT.  Its one thing to lose it’s another to give in.

The Pacers haven’t played good basketball since before the all-star break despite earning the number one seed in the east.  We all expected them to correct whatever issues that were ailing them in the 1st round, but they played worse.  Nobody outside their locker room can confirm exactly what’s going on with them.  They faced elimination in round one vs. Atlanta, but talent proved to be too much for the hawks even facing an uninspired team.  They came out flat against Washington and Dr. Hibbert I mean Roy’s disappearance was as apparent as ever.  For three games it clicked though.  Roy had a dominant game, two solid games and they were back playing defense.  It seemed that they just needed a push.  Fast forward to tonight where they have a team on the ropes at home.  They come out going through the motions and get spanked.

It’s shocking to see such a collapse in a talented team.  They are still favored in this series, but make no mistake, barring LeBron James suddenly retires this team will not challenge the champs in any type of way this season.

  1. It’s sad what is happening in Indy. If they don’t turn on sometype of light switch, they might not see game 6 versus the heat.
